I also need to add that if you ask her, "How big is Angela?" she raises her hands above her head. What a little peanut.

So a funny thing happened when that baby was born. I found out I couldn't stop knitting things for her.

( I wish things for me took so little yarn )

So far, it's been fun, mindless knitting, although the cotton is pretty taxing to knit and isn't quite as er, soft as merino. It's times like this that I wish I had a scale, so that I could measure how much I'm going to use for the sleeve and find out whether or not I have enough.

Swallowtail Shawl

I'll never win an award for photography, but look at that. I'm pretty proud of myself. And to think, it would have only taken me a week to knit (it was that addicting, once I got the Addi lace needles to do the p5tog), if I hadn't run out of yarn and had to wait for more. And now I have a use for the rest of the 4 Ply Soft, but it's a gift, so mum's the word. Anyway. Swallowtail shawl. I love it. I'll try to take a proper action photo when I am not in a Tufts t-shirt and jeans, doing homework on a Sunday afternoon.

A hat for a Christine by a Christine.

Et voila, the less-than-three-hours-chapeau. Makes me wonder why I don't have a decent winter hat. Maybe this weekend...

I never sleep properly the night before I go on vacation, so I had some extra time this morning to finish The Complete Sherlock Holmes, Volume II, and to knit a pinwheel flower from Handknit Holidays to pin on the hat. It's very understated, but as soon as my Mom saw the flower pinned to the corner, she said, "She's going to love it!" Nice change from last night, I think.
